What are the primary differences between CITRUS SOLUTION™, LAUNDRY SAVER™ and CONTRACTORS’ SOLVENT™? +

CITRUS SOLUTION is better suited for everyday icky, sticky, gooey, oily, waxy, household/school-related challenges on skin, clothing, carpet and upholstery. It has more rinsability (which helps when used on laundry) and doesn’t usually require a soap and water rinse like similar products. It also removes A LOT MORE challenges such as pasta sauces, fresh paints and stains, and even bug residue.

LAUNDRY SAVER will remove much of what CITRUS SOLUTION removes but targets more specific protein, grease, oil, mustard and even baby-related stains. CITRUS SOLUTION and LAUNDRY SAVER are wonderful complements to each other as they collectively remove over 95% of the tougher household and laundry stains you may encounter...EVEN AFTER THE DRYER.

PRO CONTRACTORS’ SOLVENT is a stronger version of CITRUS SOLUTION, removing even tougher challenges including caulk, cured silicone, water seal, roofing tar, asphalt and fresh expanding insulation foam.

Can I use CITRUS SOLUTION to remove protective paper adhesive to clear acrylic plexiglass? +

Yes, it will remove most protective paper adhesives from hard surfaces including clear acrylic plexiglass. This said, there are actually different grades of plexiglass, some of which can degrade quicker with moisture or environmental influence, including adhesives, so PLEASE TEST IN AN INCONSPICUOUS AREA FIRST before applying in volume.

The quickest and simplest way to test is spray or wipe De-Solv-it Citrus Solution on a small area and wipe off. Then apply a small amount of water to rinse the surface and dry with a non-abrasive cloth. If in 5-10 minutes there is no sign of degradation ie. "cloudy or smoked” plastic then this surface should be fine.

Please note that, by itself and unlike abrasive cloths, De-Solv-it Citrus Solution WILL NOT ETCH PLASTIC as it is non-abrasive, non-corrosive and will not harm most water tolerant surfaces including dry paint, clear coats and glass.

Can I use CITRUS SOLUTION on my automobile to remove sap, asphalt, tar and bumper or window stickers? +

YES. CITRUS SOLUTION is safe to use on your automobile, its paint and clear-coat finish and glass. CITRUS SOLUTION is an excellent wax remover so after removing asphalt, grease and tar, you may want to rewax your vehicle. To clean interior stains, use the instructions for carpeting and upholstery. CITRUS SOLUTION may also be used on vinyl and non-tinted glass, since tint is usually applied with adhesive. Be sure to wash CITRUS SOLUTION off vinyl and rubber surfaces after use.

Can I use CITRUS SOLUTION on dry paint? +

Yes, even to remove wet oil-based paint and stain. CITRUS SOLUTION also can be used on cured wood stain. Many amazed customers have shared their CITRUS SOLUTION success on stained cabinets, floors and furniture with no harm to stained surfaces or these items.

Can I use CITRUS SOLUTION on heated surfaces such as ovens or inside electric/gas dryers? +

YES, with caution. Here’s how:

First, make sure the surface you apply CITRUS SOLUTION to is NOT HOT. After applying, then removing, CITRUS SOLUTION (and the challenge), include an extra water rinse on the surface (to be certain no residue remains on the surface to be heated). Often a moist paper towel or moist sponge suffice for the rinse. Then let the surface dry thoroughly.

We receive many success stories after crayon and lip balm goes through the dryer and is subsequently cleaned off with CITRUS SOLUTION. Even a few ink pens.
